Elkhorn Creek

We were 5-strong this morning.  Thinking that there were only going to be 3 of us, it was great to see others waiting in the church parking lot at 6am....ready to go!  Curtis, Josh, Brian, Jeff and I explored a section of Elkhorn that I had never traveled before.  Directions.

At this time of year, the water was low enough to wade and fish.  Although, if we could do it again, I would put the kayak in.  It felt like we were disturbing the water quite a bit with us all hiking through.  In the spring or fall, I would certainly use the kayak to slip in a bit more unnoticed.

Brian and Josh had fished the section a week back and had lots of success catching small mouth.  The magic lure was supposed to be a plastic worm with 3 hooks.  Not so today.....  Each of caught quite a few little guys but nothing picture worthy.  Nothing except this marlin below....
