We spent a few hours this afternoon scouting a future backpacking trip to Gregory Bald. We took the Cades Cove Loop to Parson's Branch Rd until it ends at a parking area and the trailhead shown above.
It's about a 5 mile hike to Gregory Bald. Hoping to camp there sometime in 2015.
We stopped for this photo op when entering the park.
